This story takes place directly after the events of the previous tape. Having discovered the Cloak of Stars and the Sleeping Sword, the party proceeds south-easterly into the desert heat of the The Scarlet Kingdom.

Travelling over the mountain regions by foot and into an arid landscape, the party struggle to acclimatise and rapidly lose morale. Determined to understand why the black flag pirates are making claims in the north, the Runecaster seeks advice from the Elf Queen mystic.

The party learns that the Prince has been manipulated through the black magic of a mysterious Warlock who is responsible for enslaving pirates. An unexpected ally is found in the Pirate King as he agrees to smuggle the party into the Copper Palace to liberate his people. Equipped with the magic cloak, the Runecaster is able to infiltrate & banish the mage. The cost of freedom is dear as the Prince and his cohort die in battle and the travellers return home to the Bitter Mountains.
