To spend time alone, deep inside the woods, is to commune with the old gods. What a gift it is to be still and to behold the ancient smell of the soil, to witness the gentle susurration of the leaves.

As the air of summer’s evening cools and the dappled sunlight falls upon wild moss, my solitude is complete. With the silence and stillness comes my own peace, I need only to welcome it.
