This project features the kind of lamenting music that you might hear emanating from a lone tower or a medieval banquet hall (after the merrymaking). There are few musicians who stand out as truly unique in the current dark ambient genre but I'd make an argument for Baerdcyn's catalogue.

Played on real acoustic instruments, Baerdcyn's music presents an irresistible & refreshing approach to medieval and dark ambient music. With a sound palette that would impress any minstrel at court, we'll hear Lute, Guitar, Recorders, Irish Whistle, Lyre, Celtic Harp, Bowed Psaltery, Bass Recorder, Hammered Dulcimer & Mandolin.

At times this music is reminiscent of acclaimed revivalists (such as The Incredible String Band, The Third Ear Band), or the beloved soundtracks to video games such as Dark Souls or The Elder Scrolls series; but it's also imbued with an original & powerful attitude to improvisation.

Pressed to cassette for the first time since it's digital release last year, Cosmic Ocean invites you to sit by the warmth of the hearth and witness a true artist at his best; the celebrated Baerdcyn.
